YEAR IN REVIEW
We want to take a moment and reflect on another successful year at Buffalo Media Group. We started the first part of the year at the annual Dude Rancher's Convention that was help at Rancho De Los Caballeros in Wickenburg, Arizona where we attended as vendors. We became Chamber members to Crosslake, Brainerd, and Pequot Lakes and quickly went to work providing video promos to highlight those areas.
In February, we were once again hired by Grand View Lodge to cover D'Vine weekend. In February we were welcomed aboard by The Lafayette Club to cover multiple shoots for the year which all turned out to be major successes.
In March, we found ourselves covering the Explore Minnesota tourism conference as the pro photographers and also as vendors. Later in March we covered the Crosslake St. Patrick's Day parade. The end of March was capped by a run through Voyageurs National Park as we conducted a photo/video shoot for Kabetogama Lakes Resorts.
April brought about a wonderful flurry of work out in California as we shot for Bandit Brand out of central California. During that shoot we were also able to visit Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks. To see both with spring thaw rushing down the mountains was certainly a huge feast for the senses!
In May we started our first shoot for Lake Mille Lacs Tourism with the summer shoot. This lent its way right into shooting for the Red Door Resort on Lake Mille Lacs just a few weeks later.
The first week of June we were in Estes park and Allenspark, Colorado covering resort photography for The Meeker Park Lodge and Lane Guest Ranch and a few Air B&B's. Later toward the end of June, Buffalo Media Group covered a summer shoot for Kabetogama Lakes Resorts where we were finally able to catch the northern lights in all their glory!
July started off with us briefly meeting Doug Johnson who owned Fly The Swan. We were able to go flying with him in his experimental aircraft. Unfortunately just six weeks after meeting him, he was killed when his aircraft crashed with him and another passenger. It was a real shock and in the brief time we got to know him, he was an amazing person with a great zest for life and a genuine passion for flying and sharing those experiences with his family, friends, guests, and clients alike.
July brought about our Explore Minnesota shoot at Lake of the Woods. We absolutely love it up there! We were finally able to cover the Northwest Angle and share in those experiences with our audiences.
August was busy with numerous photo/video shoots for Grand View Lodge where we captured three separate shoots in as many weeks. We were also hired as the official photographers for the Major League Soccer All-Star Game in Minneapolis in August.
September was game time for our annual fall salmon run in Michigan then we were right back at it for peak fall color shoots for Stout's Island Lodge and W.A. Frost in St. Paul, MN. We rounded out of video sessions for Crosslake Chamber of Commerce and The Lafayette Club.
October was very busy at our studio in the country where we did numerous family sessions. in November we covered the Wisconsin Hotel and Lodging Association convention at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, WI. Finally onto December where we were able to settle in and enjoy the down time with family and friends.
But, of course, we weren't quite ready to set our gear down just yet. A huge blizzard came barreling down in the northern shores of Lake Superior in Minnesota. We pushed up there through blizzard conditions and were able to capture Lake Superior in all its fury with crashing waves and huge gusting winds...a suitable ending!
Lastly, we turned a new stone on our business and the future of our marketing endeavors…stay tuned for some exciting NEWS!
