Finish | Best US Resort Video Production
YEAR IN REVIEW
Buffalo Media Group has had a most amazing year covering shoots all across the US and abroad. We want to take a moment and share with you all the absolute honor it is for us to provide our services to our clients and how fortunate and lucky we feel. This year marks our ninth year in business and we are blown away everyday by what its become.
We are a smaller studio which allows for us to be light on our feet and inject ourselves in many different shooting locations throughout the season. We want to help create and build upon our clients brand by supplying them with a very high-quality, consistent product that strengthens brand identity and creates long-lasting relationships.
Our 2023 season kicked off right after the new year as we found ourselves shooting winter video production and photography for Lake Mille Lacs Tourism. We are so thankful to be tied into such a great community of outdoor enthusiasts and fisherman. From there, we also covered photo/video for the Driftskippers Snowmobile Club out of Isle, MN.
Fast forward a few weeks and we were shooting winter activities at Grand View Lodge in February. After that we were the official photographers for Explore Minnesota Tourism conference. To round out our winter Buffalo Media Group entered a float into the Crosslake St. Patty’s Day parade. We love being a part of the Crosslake community and being Chamber members. We also were fortunate enough to win the Crosslake Visitor’s Guide cover once again!
Spring finally had sprung and we found ourselves shooting in one of our favorite spots, Belize. We covered professional photo/video for Hopkins Bay Resort and Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge. Belize is always so amazing and never disappoints.
Now back in MN after Belize, it was trout opener. We headed down to southeastern Minnesota to Lanesboro to fish the Root River. I could go on for days about all the adventure that can be found traversing 700+ miles of streams, rivers, and creeks in southeastern Minnesota chasing trophy brown and rainbow trout.
We were hired in April by Lutsen Resort to cover video production of their Waterfall Tours along the northern shores of Lake Superior. They had a vision and we made it come to fruition.
May was the clam before the storm and before we knew it, we were rolling. We kicked off the summer by a family trip out to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, SC.
In June, Buffalo Media Group was approached by The Dude Ranch Association to cover video production for their upcoming 2023 promo video. Aside from heavy timber ranches of the northern states, we set out to put an emphasis on the southwest and Arizona specifically. So we got in touch with Stagecoach Trails Guest Ranch and our oldest western hospitality client, Tanque Verde Ranch to conduct shoots with their properties. It was a huge success all around and we are so thankful to have met so many new faces and see some old one’s along the way!
We were so bewildered to be back at our old stomping grounds of Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, AZ. This is where my career in western hospitality started.
As we headed into late June that’s when things got real…like get ready for a 17-day shoot spanning 5 states from northern Idaho to Montana into Wyoming for a visit to Yellowstone National Park and finally up to Alaska. And that’s exactly how it all came together. We started our first shoot by flying into Spokane, WA and then heading up to Sandpoint, Idaho for a video shoot with Western Pleasure Guest Ranch. It has been 4 years since our last shoot with those guys and man did it feel good to be back and being with such great people! From there, it was off to Livingston, MT for a 2-day shoot with Under Canvas North Yellowstone - Paradise Valley. We had a great time shooting for them and were looking forward to our follow up shoot with them in September. After our shoot with Under Canvas, we headed down the road for a shoot with our good friends Nine Quarter Circle Ranch in Gallatin Gateway, MT. This was our third shoot in four years with them and it gets better every time. We are so thankful to have them as clients and friends. Lastly, we made our way to the airport for a flight up to Anchorage for a week shoot in Bristol Bay with Alaska Rainbow Lodge. Our week with Alaska Rainbow Lodge was epic as always. We covered many new daily shoots for the lodge and most memorable was Brooks Falls where we were shooting alongside numerous grizzly bears as both bear and angler were targeting the running salmon.
So now here we are in July and new doors came flying open with our partnering with Lake and Company magazine where we became media contributors for. It started off with the Northwoods Adventure Food Guide where we traveled all across the northern part of Minnesota covering amazing restaurants and bringing them into the magazine. We covered some amazing restaurants and conducted a shoot with none other than celebrity chef Justin Sutherland of Northern Soul Smokehouse.
The rest of July and August were spent conducting shoots for Grand View Lodge and Lake and Company magazine. September rolled around and Labor Day weekend we were back on the road for a shoot with Under Canvas North Yellowstone - Paradise Valley. We had an amazing time there once again and are so thankful to work with them!
In October, we found ourselves was guest speakers at Hospitality Minnesota convention at Madden’s Resort. Buffalo Media Group once again teamed up with Lake and Company magazine to have a moderated q & a amongst a room full of hospitality professionals. Then it was off to Belize for a week shoot at Copal Tree Lodge and Royal Belize.
Ohh and caught an amazing Wahoo at Royal Belize while filming!
In November, we were picked up by Visit Grand Rapids and are in the process of storyboarding their winter shoot.
So as we head into December, we are taking a breather and counting our blessings. We just got back from a 3-day NYC family trip. Christmastime in New York City is AMAZING!
As we head into 2024, we are enthusiastic as ever for we are living our dreams. With that comes a dedication not only to providing stellar customer service, it also means reinvesting in our brand.
