Our shoot and interview with local celebrity and Iron Chef champion Justin Sutherland for his restaurant Justin Sutherland's Northern Soul at Grand View Lodge with Megan Kellin of Lake and Company magazine.

Backstory.

Buffalo Media Group was hired by Grand View Lodge to cover the food photography for the restaurant. Also some lifestyle shots and headshots. From there, I engaged Megan Kellin about featuring this in the upcoming summer edition and she gladly provided us with the space in the magazine. So I turned to Grand View Lodge's marketing team and asked if we can get the lifestyle shots for the magazine and of course they obliged. So Megan drove down from Grand Rapids through major July thunderstorms to meet and conduct the interview. Afterwards, we did a little cocktail cruise with Frank Chip Soukup and Megan Kellin where we did the lifestyle shoot.

Afterwards, we were asked by the magazine to co-author the story seeing as this would be a grand introduction into the Adventure Food Guide that was my baby from the very beginning.

WHY THE FOOD GUIDE?

Been asked this a lot and here is WHY...

The North Woods Food Adventure Guide has been inspired by the dedication, tenacity, and creativity of the restaurant owners and staff in the face of adversity and seemingly endless challenges endured over the past few years.

This is our way of saying thank you to all the restaurant owners and staff who have been witness to uncertainty and loss but have found new hope. This new hope is fueling a sort of food renaissance in Minnesota and we can especially see this in the northern part of the state.

From the shores of Gull Lake in central Minnesota to the northern shores of Lake Superior…
