This past week Buffalo Media Group were hired by Visit Crane Lake Tourism Bureau to provide media for their tourism bureau and for that of Voyageurs National Park.  With this season being the 50th anniversary of Minnesota’s one and only National Park, we were more than excited.  We celebrate Voyageurs National Park.  It’s a land of water, pine, wildlife, lush forests and history.  Relatively untouched and pristine as an uninhabited ecosystem, the wildlife thrives.

Voyageurs National Park is one of only a handful of National Parks that is designated a Dark Sky National Park.  What does that mean…well little to no light solution given its remoteness.

We left the shot with melancholy as the night skies were clear and starry but the aurora didn’t present herself and the Milky Way was below the horizon line but this is what keeps the dream alive, to witness the spender and awe of a force of energy that lifts us up spiritually and gives us a new perspective on life outside our realm or understanding.

Dark Skies in Voyageurs

The night sky is filled with wonder. From the Moon to Mars, the Milky Way to meteors, a whole new world is waiting for you to step outside and look up. With its exceptional dark skies, Voyageurs offers many ways to embrace the night.

Stargazing in Voyageurs National Park

Planets shine, shooting stars dart across the sky, satellites float along the horizon, and our own galaxy wraps an arm over our globe. Earth is a very small, singular, unique place within this awe-inspiring cosmos.

Step out, look up, and embrace the wonder of a Voyageurs night.

Voyageurs National Park is an oasis for astro-tourism and nighttime wonder. Year after year, thousands of individuals eagerly partake in Voyageurs dark sky programs and telescope sessions, stargazing boat tours, and virtual programming. Guided by astronomers and park rangers, these experiences offer unparalleled opportunities to connect to the night sky.
