Buffalo Media Group has spent years shooting a lot of guest ranches and it has allowed for us to cover a ton of ground across the American West. We were able to pull footage from many of them to make a promo video for The Dude Rancher’s Association. We have been members of The Dude Rancher’s Association for years and continue to work with so many great guest ranches and the owners. We look forward to the next great adventure out west!

Purpose | Top Alaska Commerial Photographer

This year has been a super busy one for us here at Buffalo Media Group and in the midst of all the chaos we still have salmon and trout fishing fresh on our minds from last year still. Maybe it’s because we have been on a salmon run in northern Michigan and now have our eyes set on a northern Wisconsin steelhead and coho run. Of course, many of those experiences from our shoot with Alaska Rainbow Lodge were shared around the campfire at camp. We wanted to take a good look at some stock footage we covered and see if there’s any new material we can find and use. It’s a good thing I always overshoot because we were able to put together a completely new two-minute piece. This documentation is just from the shoot in late July. We of course have tons of material from our September shoot as well. We hope you all enjoy!

Soaring | Minnesota Commercial Video Production

Quick little story. A friend of the family Doug Johnson who operated Fly The Swan lost his life when his ultralight crashed north of Emily, MN on August 29th. I had the brief pleasure of meeting and flying with him back in July. So backstory, my Mom had rented Doug's services for a few hour block to have family take turns flying for 20 minutes each. My Mom asked if I would take a picture of everybody at the lake home stretching out a giant American flag across the lawn for when we were to fly over. So naturally, I thought I would shoot some footage as well seeing as this was such a cool experience. I know Doug had a bunch of GoPro footage but figured some good professional stuff would be great for him to have. I also shot some stills and emailed him everything. He was elated and wanted to team up this fall and put together a promo video. I was just thinking about him as I was driving through Nisswa...hours before I received the tragic news that Doug and a passenger were killed as his ultralight crashed just north of Emily, MN. I was going to be reaching out to him very soon to see if he wanted to get some fall colors shots during Crosslake Days. I was really looking forward to working with him. Needless to say, we were all floored by the sudden, tragic news. For the brief time I knew him, he was an extremely generous and thoughtful person who genuinely loved his job and sharing it with others. In the last email I got from him his sign off was ABOVE AND BEYOND!

So my Mom asked if I had any photos I could pass on to her for his memorium. Then I stumbled across all this footage I shot and put together this piece. RIP Douglas Johnson.

Drive | Eagle River Wisconsin resort photographer

This week Buffalo Media Group has been digging in the archives to pull together a new fall promo video for Pitlik’s Sand Beach Resort in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Luckily for us and our client, we had enough footage to pull together a new 60-sec. piece. We hope everybody who takes a fall drive pass through Eagle River and Pitlik’s Sand Beach Resort on Sugar Lake.

This summer has been off to a great start in the Crosslake Area and the Whitefish Chain of Lakes. There’s so much to see and experience in this picture perfect beauty spot! Buffalo Media Group has had such a great time capturing a lot of the amazing events and activities in the area. We have only begun to scratch the surface of all there is to do in Crosslake!

Reach | Minnesota Tourism Video Production

This July Buffalo Media Group was hired by Explore Minnesota to provide video production of Lake of the Woods in Baudette, Minnesota. We have always loved the Lake of the Woods area and jumped all over the opportunity to showcase our skills. By having looked at the video, you wouldn’t have realized how much severe weather we had to battle in order to fit the shoot in two days. Upon arrival at our cabin, the weather was already 91 degrees and extremely humid. This eventually then turned into massive storms the first night and into the next morning! As soon as the storms cleared out at 9:00am, it was off to the races and the prized fishing grounds. The weather did open up for a few hours and allow us to get over the the Northwest Angle and showcase some of the resorts in that remote part of Lake of the Woods. We would like to thank all who made this shoot a huge success that it was namely Paul and Brandi Johnson of River Bend’s Resort and Joe Henry with Lake of the Woods Tourism. Sweetness | Minnesota Resort & Hotel Photographer

This past June Buffalo Media Group was at the Red Door Resort on Lake Mille Lacs covering commercial video production. We have had a great standing relationship with the Red Door Resort and they have been a client of ours for three years now. We covered our first shoot with them back in 2020 at the height of COVID. We then covered a winter shoot in February of 2021. Now fast forward to summer 2022 and we are so thrilled to have captured a ton of new imagery and video for them! We look forward to many more amazing opportunities such as these!
